Intel XMP (Intel Extreme Memory Profile) is a quick method to enable advanced performance features for compatible system memory on Intel processor-based systems.
XMP allows memory kits to reach high speeds quickly because the approved settings for the platform used are stored directly on each module.
Intel® XMP 3.0 certified
Intel XMP – Intel® Extreme Memory Profile
Intel® XMP allows users to overclock compatible DDR5 /DDR4/DDR3 memory modules to operate above their standard values. It is designed to enrich the gaming experience on Intel® technology-based PC systems. Users who want to overclock their systems to the fullest can do this without difficulty with Intel® XMP certified memories.
How It Works
Intel® XMP profiles that have been tested and predefined for the modules are loaded into the computer operating system via BIOS or special applications. The process of loading Intel® XMP profiles via the application varies depending on the motherboard manufacturer. Information should be obtained from the motherboard or system manufacturer to check whether there is an application for the system or motherboard. You can learn about XMP profile selection in BIOS in our article Things to Do Before Increasing RAM .
For memory manufacturers such as Kingston, Intel has developed an Intel® XMP compatibility certification program. Reference lists of compatible memory are published on the manufacturer and Intel websites.
Attention to Our Users
Changing the frequency and/or voltage of computer components such as RAM and CPU:
- It may reduce system stability and usage time of the system, memory and processor.
- It may cause the processor and other system components to fail.
- It may cause system performance to decrease.
- It may cause high temperature or other damage.
- It may affect the data integrity of the system.
Intel disclaims any responsibility that the memory will be suitable for any particular purpose if used with modified clock frequencies and/or voltages.
